What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive and safe alternative to traditional liposuction and liposculpting. Without having to undergo anesthesia, incisions, or recovery, fractional technology is utilized to penetrate through the deeper layers of tissue, to remodel superficial fat, called adipose fat, in larger areas of the body.

Once this adipose fat is remodeled, in order to prevent sagging of the overlying skin, radiofrequency is combined with microneedling, utilized to tighten the skin, leaving it with a smoother appearance. With Morpheus8, there is little to no downtime, and it can be utilized on all skin tones.

What is Radio Frequency?

Radio Frequency is a modern, energy-based technology that uses heat to stimulate superficial and deeper layers of skin. The heat subsequently triggers a natural cascade of events in the skin, ultimately leading to the formation of new collagen.

Unlike traditional laser treatments, which may not be suitable for all skin types, radiofrequency merely uses the body’s own ability to create more collagen, making it safe for the lightest and darkest skin tones.

What is Microneedling?

As the name suggests, microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses small and thin needles to comfortably penetrate the skin at a controlled depth. This process causes a slight injury to the skin; the surrounding uninjured areas immediately begin the process of repairing this injured skin by producing new collagen, resulting in skin that is tighter, firmer, and smoother.

What Areas Can Morpheus8 Address?

Microneedling with radiofrequency has been used successfully on the face and neck for nearly 20 years. On the face, this treatment targets fine and deeper wrinkles, called rythids, especially to the forehead and around the eyes.

Morpheus8 also works to minimize pore size, reduce excess tissue below the chin and jowls, and shallow indentations to the front of the neck often referred to as necklace lines. This same, effective technology has also been utilized in the treatment of scars, by breaking up scar tissue, and stimulating new collagen, for a less noticeable and softer scar.

Using Morpheus8, the upper arms, down to the sides of the chest wall, the upper, mid, and lower back, hips, and thighs to the level of the knee can all be treated. The result is tighter skin, with less dimpling, and a smoother contour.

Am I a Candidate for Morpheus8?

When treating the face and neck, the best patients are those with early signs of aging, who are not yet surgical candidates, are not healthy enough for surgery, or simply do not wish to undergo surgery. This includes noticeable wrinkles while the face is at rest, especially to the forehead and around the eyes. In addition, this works well for patients with a heaviness in the jaw area, known as jowls, and excess tissue under the chin.

For the rest of the body, including to the upper arms, abdomen, and thighs, the ideal person is at a consistent weight that is easily maintained. If you are on a weight loss journey, it is important that you are at or near your goal weight, and are able to maintain it. Fluctuations in weight will vary your end result.

What Can I Expect During Morpheus8 Treatment?

After the numbing medication is administered, your treatment will begin, where a handpiece will be utilized over the treatment site, both across and perpendicular in direction. Some pinpoint bleeding may occur, but this is only slight and temporary. You will be given directions on what products you may use afterward, as well as when you can resume makeup, cream, or sunscreen.
